Credit Insurance Market 2026

Despite the overall increase in risk, the trade credit insurance market continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience. In the current uncertain environment, insurers have maintained strong support for businesses by sustaining their risk appetite. Notably, insurers' exposure increased by 3%, outpacing premium growth of 1%. The continued expansion of insurers, the rise of Managing General Agents (MGAs), and the growth of Credit Default Swap (CDS) providers further illustrate the dynamism of a market that continues to attract new entrants.

The primary concern for trade credit insurers remains the prolonged slowdown in the global economy. Weaker economic growth is placing increasing pressure on the most vulnerable businesses and directly affecting insurers' activity, as premium income is closely linked to the turnover of insured companies.
