When a company uses factoring, it transfers part or all of its trade receivables to a factor, who can finance them immediately, without waiting for payment terms.

Factoring is deemed deconsolidating when the transfer of ownership of receivables to the factor has no recourse. In other words, the factor cannot go back to the company that assigned its receivables to it to demand payment in the event that the company's buyers default or fail to pay.
