Business insolvencies 2025

The year 2024 marks a worrying turning point for French businesses, with more than 66,000 insolvencies, a record number and up sharply on the 56,760 recorded in 2023. This level, unprecedented in recent history, reflects a particularly unfavourable economic climate. With +17% in France and +9% worldwide, several factors explain this deterioration.

A slight lull is expected in 2025, with the number of insolvencies estimated at 64,500. This stabilisation could be supported by a modestly more favourable economic outlook, notably GDP growth forecast at +1.1%, and an easing of credit conditions by the ECB.
